and Future Plans
A brief history of the campus
The Cornwall Campus is known locally as Tremough
Tremough is jointly owned by University of Exeter and University
College Falmouth
CUC (Combined Universities Cornwall) is leading the economic
regeneration of the county of Cornwall – now offering some of the
best HE opportunities in the country
EU has put over £100 million into the development and
expansion of Tremough continues

Campus opened in 2004
Today there are approx 3000 University of Exeter students and
University College Falmouth students on campus
2008 saw opening of the new Peter Lanyon building which
houses teaching facilities primarily for Exeter students
UCF recently merged with Dartington College of Arts
bringing with it the new Performance Centre
due to open in 2010

Exeter’s future plans lie with the ESI (Environment and
Sustainability Institute)
Cornwall to become the first county in UK to have a carbon
neutral footprint and to be self-sufficient in renewable energy
New degree programme in 2011 – BA and BSc in Environment
and Sustainability
Expansion of teaching and learning facilities 2011/12
Aim = to make Cornwall the place in the world
to come for those interested in issues
concerning the environment and sustainability
The Future
Increase student numbers to 5000 by 2016
Expansion of teaching and learning facilities £11.5 million
to be spent on expanding the Learning Resource Centre
Accommodation has increased this year space by another
400 rooms on site
