Team Rules
• Do nothing that will embarrass yourself,
your family, the team, or the school
• Be where you are supposed to be,
when you are supposed to be there, doing
what you are supposed to be doing, at all
times.
• Miss a practice (unexcused), miss a quarter
Parent and Player Agreement
<player Name>
I understand that my playing time is determined by my A) Knowledge of
Assignment, B) Hustle and Effort, C) Hitting and Mental Toughness, D) Contribution
to the Program, and E) Talent. This will be determined through my effort on the
practice field.
I understand that unexcused absences will result in loss of playing time. I also know
that we will start practice late each Wednesday so I will have time to take care of
appointments, tutoring, study hall, meetings, etc.
Communications – I understand that as the player, it is my responsibility to initiate
contact with my position coach should I have questions or issues regarding my
playing time. If his explanation is not sufficient he and I will go to the head coach.
Only if that meeting is not sufficient will I request a meeting with the head coach,
athletic director, and my parents.
I PLEDGE that:
I will be where I am supposed to be, when I am supposed to be there, doing what I
am supposed to be doing. At all times.
I PLEDGE that:
I will do nothing that will embarrass or humiliate <School> High School, the team,
my family, or myself. Furthermore I will conduct myself as a gentleman at all times.
I PLEDGE that:
I will work as hard as I can to earn better than a 3.0 GPA.
I PLEDGE that:
I will honor each member of this team as a valued contributor. These are my
teammates, my brothers, and I am theirs. I will not let them down, and they will
not let me down.
I PLEDGE that:

Offensive, Defensive Schemes
• Offense
– Staying with option
• But, we will run the option, not dabble with it
– Formations and concepts – Think Air Force, Navy,
Georgia Tech
– No Huddle, Warp Speed
• Lots of energy, excitement
• More plays
• Pressure on the defense
• Defense
– Aggressive, attacking
– High pressure
– Very aggressive to match the offense

Loyalty Program
•
A program that will be used as a method of measuring, and
increasing the dedication and loyalty each player has to the
football program, their academic performance, and the
school and community.
•
Focus of the program is on:
– Academics – I am not satisfied with “Passing/being eligible”
• 3.0 GPA
• Progress reports through whole year
• Coaching staff will develop close ties with teachers – We want
good news and bad news
– Community
•
•
•
•
Service projects
Winter and Spring sports
School activities
No detentions, no disciplinary actions, no teacher boom-sheets

Spring Practice
Points are set for items in each area (“Standard”). Points
are earned by players in each area (“Earned”).
– Assessment of each player made at start of double-day
practices in August. Did they make the standard or not?
– Each player must meet the standard before the player will
participate in organized scrimmage or games. Points are
earned by running after practice.
Financial Situation
• Team is $9,000 in debt to the school
– Accumulated over the past 2 seasons
– To be paid back over the next 2 seasons
$4,500 due this year
– Current account balance is $400
• No financial support from school or district
– District pays for safety – helmet and shoulder pad
reconditioning
• Your support for fundraising is critical
– Busses to games, decals for helmets, replacement
practice uniforms, replacement game uniforms,
footballs, pads, etc.
