Community Support Service
• There is a flexibility of Action Deafness’ Community Support
Service as a floating Support service, filling in the much needed
gaps accessible
• Community Support Provision is based upon 5 Outcomes for
Independent Living and advocacy support.
• Cost effective impact overall over residential care: mainstreamed
referrals are offered support via private homecare organisations
at a considerable cost to the Council.
• It would also allow Action Deafness, as a local level third sector,
to develop a more interactive and long term specialist service
previously none available in Leicester for Deaf, deafened, hard of
hearing and Deafblind people.
