PRESENTATION TO NCOP LOCAL GOVERNMENT WEEK
1.
INTRODUCTION
A new Municipal leadership was deployed in
Thembisile Hani Local municipality after the local
government elections held on the 18 May 2011.
We should remember that this municipality was
placed under administration on the 16 April 2010
in terms of section 139 (1) (b) of the
Constitution of the Republic of South Africa, and
that was lifted in July 2011 after the sworning in
of the new Leadership. In the main, the newly
elected leadership was expected to deal with the
following issues;
