Mandate
Increase human and institutional capacity for
effective care and treatment of HIV/AIDS:
Building infrastructure for long-term delivery of
effective training and health care services
Increasing human capacity in program
management, clinical care, instructional design,
information management, monitoring and evaluation
Promoting transfer of learning from classroom to
practice through clinical mentoring and long-term
decision support
Providing support for implementation of continuous
quality management practices

Objectives
Coordinate HIV-related training in Guyana
among many partners
Develop standardized curricula and materials
Provide high quality HIV training and capacity
development for health care workers

Quarterly National HIV training calendar
Draft National Curricula for Nurses, Dentist,

Way Forward for GYNTCC
Finalize curricula for nurses, dentists, pharmacists,
and multidisciplinary teams
Increased focus on pre-service integration
Work with MOH to complete National Training Plan
TIMS roll out as national training information system
Consider improving Caribbean-regional linkages
