3. Executive in Residence Program
Purpose: To provide opportunities for corporations to promote research into e-health policy
• One FTE on loan for 12 months from Apptis

4. Internship Programs
Purpose: To provide educational opportunities for students interested in e-health policy
• Since 2004, one dozen students completed HIMSS Government
Relations Public Policy Internship
• Now, two interns per semester (Fall, Spring, Summer)
• Undergraduate or Graduates interested in e-health Public Policy
• Self-directed projects with mentoring
• Currently:
– Angel Rafael Braña, MD, MPH (NOVA Southeastern University)
is focused on e-RX policy and Hispanic Caucus Issues
– Meha Goyal (Baylor University) is focused on state government
relations issues
• Collaboration with George Mason University

Purpose: To promote education and outreach on e-health policy
• Started in 2006
• Institute to take leadership role with Zarb Consulting
• Collaborative forum during which key healthcare
constituents work together to elevate national
attention to the necessity of health IT adoption.
• National Health IT Week 2009 will take place Sept.
21-25, 2009.
• In 2008, 75 partners participated.
