Step 1 - links for WSS and MOSS have different text, but they link to the same video.
Produced 3/08 but still relevant.
Step 2 - separate sites for WSS and MOSS.
Step 3 - Remember, MOSS servers run on WSS, so you have to install WSS patch
first, the MOSS patch.
We do not install Language Packs, so I can’t speak to that. I do know they have to be
installed after updates, and again must install WSS then MOSS.

In June, there was an Excel patch that affected Excel
Services in MOSS.
SP2 Notes
Caused MOSS licenses to revert to trial version!
HOTFIX IS NOW OUT: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/971620
Manual fix: CA > Ops > Convert License Type > Enter the Product
Key
Issue: Failed to execute request because the App-Domain
could not be created. FIX: wssFarmService account
applied at WSS folder level and down to web.config
SP 2 was released just before April Cumulative Update:

Other Tips
First thing after each update, rename the update
log file. I just append the patch &/or date to it.
Bonus tip: Create a desktop shortcut to the 12 hive
folder
Target = C:\WINDOWS\explorer.exe
/n,/e,C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft
Shared\web server extensions\12\LOGS
and a link for CMD to open the 12 hive directory.

Have you seen this?
We use Office 2007 at Roanoke County.
When I was in a Checked Out, edit mode version of a
document from a WSS library I would periodically
try to Save and it would be in Read Only mode.
