The Work Programme Kirsty Taylor, Operations Manager Glasgow About Ingeus – Ingeus is funded by the Government to help long-term unemployed people find lasting work. – Since 2002, we have helped place over 90,000 people into suitable work in the UK. – We are the largest provider of the Work Programme, the Government’s flagship initiative to reduce long-term unemployment. – We have been working in Scotland since 2007 – We work with an extensive network of local and specialist partner organisations from the third, private and public sectors. He was referred onto the Work Programme and was also receiving support from the local branch of Action For Children who strive to prepare young offenders for a return to the workplace. Through attending individual appointments, facilitator run workshops and interviews with the local Employer Partnership Co-ordinators at Ingeus, Tony found his confidence improving and the increase in his activity levels resulted in him achieving interview. Ultimately he was successful in achieving a position with a local car valeting company, who have been impressed with Tony’s application and desire to improve his lifestyle. Although he is now back in employment, Tony keeps in regular contact with both Ingeus and his local Action For Children office to receive both advice and support as he embarks on a new chapter in his journey.
