Manatee County Sheriff's Office
Reviewed current staffing needs for 2010 and through 2020:
•
MAG notes the 2001 Cody & Associates staffing study
recommended 18 new civilian positions by 2006. This was
not implemented as civilian staffing has decreased by
nearly 9%.
•
The same study recommended 86 additional sworn positions
by 2006. Only 50% of this recommendation was
implemented, mainly for the judicial center.
12
Manatee County Sheriff's Office
The MAG study states…. “The Manatee County
Sheriff’s Office has done a better job over the years
than most agencies in terms of limiting the number of
sworn positions to number of non-sworn assignments.
This is observed in a number of functional areas where
a sworn position might be established, but a nonsworn position is actually created instead.”
