Hamburg Süd
 Established in 1871 by a consortium of eleven Hamburg merchants running a
monthly service connecting Brazil and La Plata, we have developed from a
conventional shipping company into an internationally operating transportlogistics organisation.
 Today, the Hamburg Süd Group ranks among the 15 major providers of
worldwide ocean transportation and is well-known for individual, one-source
logistics solutions tailored to customer needs. North-South connections are

NB + SB Trade – North Europe/Morocco-Turkey Range
Market Capacity vs Market Volume
Sicily is located in the middle of the Mediterranean Sea,
being - therefore - in a very advantageous position in terms
of shipping connections with North European and Med ports,
including Transshipment's Hubs for overseas origins and
destinations.

25
NB + SB Trade – North Europe/Morocco-Turkey Range
Market Capacity vs Market Volume
“Geographical location” is important; anyway, shipping lines
tend to operate in areas/ports where:




Suitable infrastructures exist;
Important volumes of import/export cargo are available;
Applicable freight rates are remunerative;
Operations (marine/logistics/intermodal/etc.) are possibly
performed at high quality level/proper cost;
 Serious development’s plans are envisaged and implemented;
 Bureaucracy does not represent a stumbling block factor.
