The next four slides are a re-cap of the
departure procedures from the January 8th
implementation.
Revised preferred departure procedures and
transitions have been recommended based on
the feedback received from ATC and industry.

NOTES:
• Due to additional adaptation issues, the YYUNG
transition to the San Francisco WESLA & SSTIK
departures and the CNDEL Oakland departure
will not be available. Please continue to file for
the OFFSHORE & COAST departures until further
notice.
• There are adaptation issues with the TECKY
departure off San Jose. Please file for the
EBAYE transition for all destinations. The one
exception would be for aircraft requesting NTELL
and Q162 eastbound.

Background Information
• Began Design Phase in March 2012
• Concentrated on SFO, OAK, SJC, and SMF
• SIDs designed to connect with Q-Routes and move
away from dependence on ground based NAVAIDs
• Designed 34 RNAV SIDs and STARs
• Completed Simulator Runs at United and Southwest
• Completed Human in the Loop Simulations at MITRE
• Adjusted procedures based on HITLs, Flight Sims, AVN,
PBN, changing criteria, directives, etc.
• 100% Safety Risk Management completed
• Environmental Analysis completed ~ Draft EA, public
workshops, Final EA, FONSI/ROD signed 7/31/14
