test-based accountability , and
performance-based pay to be a dead end.
The future of Finnish education described
above can moreover offer an alternative
means to customized learning ( Sahlberg,
2011).

What have we done in education cooperation?
BNU has already been involved in CEREC’s activities
through a variety of projects and individual collaborations.
1.
Research cooperation: The Sino-Finnish Higher Education Forum ( On
October 21 last year, Beijing Normal University continued to send
representatives to attend the Third Sino-Finnish Higher Education Forum.)
2.
Teacher Exchanges: Professor Wang Yingjie , Professor Liu Baocun of Beijing
Normal University went to give lectures in succession and were highly
welcomed in the local. Professor Seppo Hölttä, the director of higher
education center in the University of Tampere, was hired as a visiting
professor of Institute of International and Comparative Education in Beijing
Normal University.

Student exchanges: two BNU doctors visited University of Tampere as visiting
scholars in succession.
4.
EU project: Beijing Normal University and the University of Tampere were
involved in the Erasmus Mundus Action 1 and Erasmus Mundus Action 2
projects respectively.

CIMO China Cooperation Fund: a two-year "Sino-Finnish joint training
curriculum development projects for higher education managers.“

The Africa Project in Finnish Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of
Education

Doctoral project of the Academy of Finland
• Finnish Education Research Centre was established in
the International and Comparative Education Research
Institute (IICE)at Beijing Normal University (BNU) on
October 28, 2013.

field of education and suggest appropriate models for joint
education and degrees in other disciplines;
 To develop Sino-Finland educational training curriculum and
quality assurance standards;
 To organize high level Sino-Finland education conferences;
