P.E.R.T. P.E.R.T. Postsecondary Education Readiness Test What is the P.E.R.T.? • P.E.R.T. has taken the place of the previous Common Placement Test (CPT). • Used by all 28 Florida colleges – Determine whether or not a student is ready for college level courses – P.E.R.T. began in October 2010 Chain of Lakes (COL) Unweighted GPA: 3.0 Pass ALL 3 sections of the P.E.R.T. Tier 1 - Pass all 3 sections of P.E.R.T & 3.0 GPA (Priority into COL) Tier 2 - Pass 2 of the 3 sections of P.E.R.T. & 3.0 GPA Background of readiness testing http://www.fldoe.org/fcs/OSAS/Evaluations/pdf/Zoom2010-03.pdf What does P.E.R.T. assess? • Reading – Takes approximately 1 hour to complete • Writing – Takes approximately 30 minutes to complete • Math – Takes approximately 30 minutes to complete • Each section has 30 questions! P.E.R.T. app Advice from students… • Even though you have multiple times to take the test, study really hard the first time so you can pass it and not have to worry about taking it again. • -Let them know, not to take studying as a joke, they need to do it! Don’t Wait…. • Begin studying NOW!!! • What your student puts into this, they will get out of it!!
