SMAC’s Primary Goal: Funding projects that
eliminate structure and street flooding
Funded through a 0.1% sales tax in Johnson County
To be eligible for SMAC funding several steps must
be taken:
Quantify the extent of flooding in an initial SMAC packet
Complete a Preliminary Engineering Study
Evaluation by SMAC of Preliminary Engineering Study
Placement on SMAC funding list, based on estimated cost
of the project vs. flood reduction benefit
