Research
Domiciliary care workers play a vital role in enabling patients
to be cared for in their own home. Positive aspects identified
are physical and social support. (McIlfatrick 2007)
DoH (2008) suggests there are significant unmet training
needs despite having a key role in providing care.
There is a lack of research on the role, focusing specifically
on end of life care. (Devlin 2009)
