CARBON MANAGEMENT

Reduction of C0 2 emissions throughout the business • Aviation: – Efficient utilisation of a modern fleet – 76 % of the fleet fitted with fuel saving wing tips – Biggest charter fleet overhaul in UK aviation history – New Boeing 787 Dreamliner 20% more fuel efficient and 60% noise reduction on take off and landing – First commercial flight to use 50% sustainable aviation biofuel – Target: 6% reduction of airline direct C0 2 emissions by 2014

CARBON MANAGEMENT

Premises:

– Head office Carbon Neutral ® since 2003 – emissions monitored and off set – Decreased carbon footprint by 30% in the last year • Premises Activities – 24% • Business travel – 41% – 85% of TUI UK’s Retail Estate implemented Automatic Meter Readers to improve day-to-day energy management – The Carbon Trust Standard – achieved by TUI UK in June 2011 

OUR CUSTOMERS Today’s customer needs and demands are changing. Our recent research of 4,000 holidaymakers in eight major TUI Travel source markets showed a clear aspiration for more sustainable holidays on a significant scale. 1 in 2 would be willing to book a more sustainable holiday if available. 2 in 3 would change their behaviour on holiday to help the environment. 2 in 3 want their holiday company to be clear about what they do to make their holidays more sustainable.
