Our program is designed to introduce children to the
basics of football and to create an exciting
environment that allows children to learn and be
successful.
Our job as HYAA coaches is to have our children enjoy
football and play at a level that is safe for them.

Concussions are a parents biggest concern. The OCYFL
has partnered with the CDC and the NFL’s Head’s Up
Football Program.
We are following their guidelines and
recommendations as our league wide policy
» A concussion is a brain injury – All are serious!
» Most concussions occur without loss of consciousness!
» Athletes who have had a concussion, at any point in their
lives, have a greater chance of getting another concussion!
» Young children and teens are more likely to get a concussion
and can take longer to recover than adults!
» Recognizing and responding properly to concussions when
they first occur can help prevent further injury!
» 3 Step Action Plan
1. Educate coaches, parents, and athletes
2. Remove athlete from play
3. Obtain permission from a health care professional to
return to play

Minimite Level - Max weight 105, must be in 2nd Grade
Mite Level – Maximum Weight 105
» D1 – under 10 as of July 1, 2014 (Typically 4th Grade)
» D5 – under 9 as of July 1, 2014 (Typically 3rd Grade)
Peewee Level – Maximum Weight 130
» D1 – under 12 as of July 1, 2014 (Typically 6th Grade)
» D5 – under 11 as of July 1, 2014 (Typically 5th Grade)
Midget Level – Maximum Weight 160
» D1 – under 15 as of July 1, 2014 (Typically 8th Grade)
» D5 – under 13 as of July 1, 2014 (Typically 7th Grade)
Notes:
1. Maximum Weight on Official Weigh-in Day to play in Game 1. Each player is allowed one pound increase per week.
2. All Mite Players must be a least 7 years of age by September 1, 2014
» Within each Division, Hanover intends to operate
two (2) teams
» Each Team will have scheduled Varsity Games and
scheduled Jr Varsity Games.
» Varsity Games are typically played on Sundays, Jr
