The biggest difference between cities in MDC’s
and LDC’s lie in their ability to cope with the
huge population. MDC’s cities have grown
slowly and because these countries have
substantial financial resources, the city has been
able to develop adequate infrastructure. This
includes
Fire protection
Roads
Medical facilities
Sewer systems
Transportation


Even in MDC’s cities, you will find homeless
people who live in conditions similar to people in
LDC’s but the percentages are far less.
Many people in cities struggle to make mortgage
or rent payments.
Shelters, welfare programs, food banks, show
that although fewer people actually starve, they
encounter many problems such as exposure to
the elements, ill health, malnutrition, illiteracy.
