The 20s were “the birth of modern America;”
“The Roaring 20s”
Rapid changes in society: movies, celebrities,
new technology, new fashion, jazz, immigration,
etc. -> Prohibition, immigration restriction,
nativism, KKK, and the revival of religious
fundamentalism
