the work
using a word
processor
rather than

allows for
multimedia
tools.

stories online.
Geography - Travel
Substitution
Word
processing or
presentation
for your
destination

Explore the location
using Google Earth
to promote the
viability of the
location as a tourist
destination. Include
interviews with
residents or people
who have visited the
location and data
from social
networking sites to
validate claims.
Questions to Ask for Enhancement
Using Technology
• Substitution - tech acts as a substitute
– What will I gain by replacing the older technology with the new
technology?
• Augmentation – tech adds functional
improvement
– Have I added an improvement to the task process that could not be
accomplished with the older technology at a fundamental level?
Questions to Ask for Transformation
Using Technology
– How does this modification contribute to my task?
• Redefinition – creation of new tasks previously
inconceivable
– How is the new task uniquely made possible by the new
technology?
