Head Chef Shaun Hanna
Bio
Shaun grew up in the fishing port village of Kilkeel,
Co.Down. He worked under Fredric Souty in the 2AA
Rosette Kee’s Hotel in Ballybofey. Aged 22 he
captained the Northern Ireland Culinary Team and was
Gold Medal & Class Winner at The Open British
Championships at the Hotel Olympia Exhibition. In
February 2003 Shaun joined The Oarsman as Head
Chef . Shaun was shortlisted to the Top 6 Chefs in the
National Moreau Chablis Fish Dish Awards 2005. In
September 2009 he was a finalist in BBC’s Masterchef:
The Professionals. He has played an instrumental part
in helping us acquire & attain recognition locally &
nationally. He is a passionate advocate of sourcing
local ingredients & working closely with the artisan.
