D.U.I.D. DETECTION
Driving Under the Influence of Drugs
THE PRELIMINARY
ROADSIDE DRUG TEST
SYSTEM WITH ORAL
FLUID (SALIVA)
THE ORATECT™ TEST
DEVICE
 A single step saliva
collection and test device
 Removable cap from the
collection end
SIMPLE AND QUICK TO USE
 Remove cap from
collection end
 Place in mouth and
move side to side and
above and under tongue
 Takes 1 to 2 minutes to
collect saliva
 Adequate collection
when you see the saliva
flow in the test window
READING THE ORATECT™ ORAL
FLUID DRUG TEST RESULTS
 The test takes about five
minutes to develop
 A red line indicates a
negative result for each
drug class
 No line indicates a
presumptive positive for a
drug class
TESTS FOR IMPAIRMENT LEVELS
OF MANY DRUGS OF ABUSE
 Marijuana: tests for THC (Tetrahydrocannabinol) at
40 ng/ml and will be positive for 3 to 6 hours after
the smoking of a marijuana cigarette
 This is the same time frame that the National
Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA)
states that someone will be under the behavioral
and physiological effects from using marijuana
 Oratect™ will be a presumptive positive after
recent use (impairment) but not previous use (8
hours or more after use)
TESTS FOR IMPAIRMENT LEVELS
OF MANY DRUGS OF ABUSE
Opioids: from heroin to common pain
medicines
Detects 6-acetylmorphine from heroin
Detects narcotic pain medicines codeine,
morphine, hydrocodone (Vicodin),
hydromorphone and oxycodone (Oxycontin)
Illegal use of opioids is the second leading
drug abuse problem in the U.S. after marijuana
TESTS FOR IMPAIRMENT LEVELS
OF MANY DRUGS OF ABUSE
 PCP, Methamphetamine, Cocaine and Amphetamine also at
impairment levels
 Oral fluid (saliva) is produced from blood by the salivary
glands
 Oral fluid drug levels correlate well with the blood drug levels
 If the drug is in the oral fluid, the drug is also in the blood and
in the brain
APPROVED BY THE U.S. FDA
 The only roadside oral fluid drug test approved by the U.S.
Food and Drug Administration
 FDA 510K Clearance No. K103227
 FDA Clearance requires clinical studies to prove reliability
and accuracy of the Oratect™ to the U.S. government
 FDA Submission Summary available
ORATECT™ EASY TO PERFORM
 There is no instrumentation needed
 Video training available at www.duiddetect.com
 Oratect™ shelf life of 12 months
 Can be used any where, any time including at the roadside
 Reasonable cost
PRELIMINARY ROADSIDE DRUG
TEST FOR DUID
 Similar to a PBT (preliminary breath test) for alcohol but as a
presumptive drug test
 Presumptive positives need to be confirmed with blood
testing
 Use your same procedure for collecting blood and testing at
your state lab for confirmations
SMART PHONE APP FOR
DOCUMENTATION OF TEST
•iPhone and Android
applications to
document the test
•Photo the Oratect™
device, person and
license
•Key in name and
license number

website
SMART PHONE APP FOR
DOCUMENTATION OF TEST
 Uploads to secure
www.duiddetect.com
website
 Get a copy of the
complete test report when
needed for evidence
purposes
 User name and password
protected
 Access at officer and
administrator security
levels
VALUE PROPOSITION
 Quickly identify impaired drivers for confirmation testing with
blood
 Reduce other blood samples for your lab
 Increase awareness of D.U.I.D. detection availability
 Ultimate goal: reduce the risk of driving under the influence of
drugs with DUID Detection’s testing approach
