UCO Scholarships
Details of the Counselor Scholarship:
The scholarship will be each high school in attendance at 11-7-12
event.
The scholarship is a tuition waiver in the amount of $1000 ($500
fall, $500 spring) for the Fall 2013 semester.
The scholarship should be given to someone you feel will be
successful at UCO. This student should:
Be an incoming freshmen directly from high school in the Fall
of 2013.
Have at least a 3.0 GPA and 20 ACT
Complete the admissions/scholarship application online at
www.uco.edu/apply by May 1, 2013. (Note: Only those
applicants who complete the application & scholarship app
by February 1, 2013 will be considered for academic &
leadership scholarships)

(FYI: We will email you at least 3 times to remind you of this deadline!)
Send Van Porter ([email protected]) an email no
later than May 1, 2013 with the following information:
Name, & date of birth of recipient.
Upon request, you can find out which students
have applied and are admitted to UCO, just e-mail
[email protected].

scholarship is all on one application!

However, if students have special
talents like band or dance,
they will need to audition/apply for that
scholarship

UCO Scholarships
Eligibility:
The only automatic placement scholarship at UCO is
the Academic Scholar Program. Students must apply.
UCO’s other scholarships are not guaranteed.
Students must meet certain eligibility requirements
depending on the scholarship. Students then
“compete” for the scholarship with other applicants.
Ultimately, the students with higher GPA’s, ACT’s,
financial need, or other criteria will be awarded the
scholarship first.

The number of scholarships given at UCO is not
unlimited. However, scholarships can be stacked.
Why so few? What can you do to help?
Other Information:
Some candidates being considered for the Baccalaureate
& Freshmen Achievement Scholarship may be called for
interviews during the month of February or March.
Interviews will be held at UCO.

UCO Scholarships
Special Situations
Undocumented Students can apply for scholarships if they
graduated from an Oklahoma high school.
Student must complete legal affidavit & application
with USCIS for review.
Students that are approved for legal, permanent
residency are eligible for all type of scholarships and
financial assistance.

Required Information for all students…
We must have an official Six Semester Transcript.
No faxes of transcripts, please!
ACT scores (National is required for Regents Scholarships,
Residual accepted for all other scholarships)
FAFSA completed by end of March (FAFSA available January 1st.
Families unable to complete taxes in this turnaround time should
estimate by using last years taxes.
