Cherry Creek Schools

How should you use it?






Use it for all school functions – class instruction,
planning, staff meetings, professional learning
communities (PLCs), in-services, etc.
Use it at home for planning, emailing, research, etc.
While CCSD owns it and your building ETC, SAS, or
building tech will help you to maintain it, you are
responsible for it.
Your students can use it. (always be sure you log off and
allow a student to login through Active Directory)
Remember, since your tablet is owned by the District, it
can be made public at any time. Keep everything on it
appropriate.
You are not required to purchase insurance or an
insurance rider on the tablet.
Conditioning Your Battery
 Conditioning your battery only takes place
once – when you first install the battery and
turn on your computer.
 Conditioning insures that you get the expected
life from your battery.
 If performed properly, your battery should last
2-3 years and last between 6-8 hours of run
time per charge (although this length will
diminish over time).


To condition, fully charge your computer,
unplug and run until the battery is totally
depleted and your computer turns off.
Complete this process 2 more times. After that,
only charge the tablet when prompted from the
pop-up in the notification area (bottom right in
the task bar).
Continued Battery Life
 Avoid leaving power supply plugged into
tablet when fully charged
 Once fully charged, always disconnect the
power supply. You should use the tablet
unplugged EXCEPT when notified.



If computer seems sluggish – Restart/Reboot
Save to the right places. Always save to the Documents folder or to
your Home (H) drive. Do NOT save to your desktop.
Avoid Viruses (Tips)


NEVER click on a link in email that you are not positive is from a trusted
source!
Don't click on pop-up windows that announce such things as…
 a sudden disaster in your city
 you’ve won something - “click here to claim your prize.”
 that a virus has been found on your computer - “click here to eradicate.”





Do not download software from just any website. Make sure it is reputable.
Stay away from file-sharing sites. Sites that distribute illegal versions of
software (sometimes referred to as cracks), music, or "free movies" are known
to be riddled with virii and trojans.
Run anti-spyware (Malwarebytes) on a monthly basis. This will
eliminate pop-ups when browsing.
Run Disk Defragmentation (instructions)
