Properties

• tensile strength (dry) • 48,000-110,000 lb/in^2 • specific gravity: 1.26-1.3

• regain of 4.5-5.0% • absorbency: 12% • shrinkage is 10% @ 215ºC • begins to turn yellow at 220ºC • Melts at 230-235ºC • Does not burn readily

Method of Preperation

• vinyl acetate polymerized to polyvinyl acetate • saponified to polyvinyl alcohol • dissolved in H2O and wet spun into an aqueous salt bath • resulting yarn is stretched, heat treated, reacted with formaldehyde to 30% degree of substitution

• continuous multifilament • monofilament • staple fiber • comes in black, blue, or green

Kuralon PVA - FRC

Designed for long-term concrete crack control.

1lb/yard^3 reduces shrinkage cracking +40% after 28 days. Makes for a 50% improvement when compared to other polypropylene fibers recomended 1-2lbs/yard to reduce plastic and long term shrinkage.
