A Quick Peek at Our Data
Reporting Guidelines
• Institutional Research is the only source
and publisher of official UDC data reports
– May I still do my own internal data and analysis for operational
purposes?
• Yes, absolutely!
– May I send out those analyses to external agencies or even to
other business/functional units within the university?
• For external agency dissemination, after IR’s review
• For internal disseminations, with a disclaimer that such
reports are not to be considered official university data
– What if I want to share internal data to university and external
constituencies as “official”?
• Obtain IR’s approval in advance
