Apprenticeship Program
Apprentice Program at Alstom Power

There are four registered apprentice crafts in the Alstom
Power Apprentice Program: Machinist, Welder, Winder,
Blader.
•
Each craft within the Alstom Power Apprenticeship
Program directly relates to the work we do every day in
our workshop facility.
•
Each craft within the Alstom Power Apprenticeship
Program utilizes dedicated trainers with 20+ years of
experience in the craft.
•
All college classes that are required for the program are
taken at John Tyler Community College and are
sponsored by Alstom Power.
•
Each Alstom Power apprenticeship lasts for 3 or 4 years,
depending on craft.
•
Significant additional training is provided, including
team-building and professional skills development.
•
Apprentices are brought in as groups, or classes, with each
class size usually being 4 or more apprentices of the same
craft.
•
The logistical complexity of our work makes these jobs
effectively non-outsourceable
