PROMOTION POLICY
Overall performance is to be decided on the basis of
achievement in the scholastic as well as co-scholastic areas.
Minimum qualifying grade is D in all five subjects in
scholastic domain 1A.
The qualifying grade in 1B section of scholastic domain is B.
For each grade there are corresponding grade points.

CBSE HELPLINE
The various issued raised and their
solutions will be available in the form of
FAQs.
Further clarification can be sought on
CBSE website www.cbse.nic.in by posting
queries on the “Interact with Chairman” .
Proficiency Test
It will be optional in nature. Only those students who
wish to take this test willingly may appear.
There will be separate test in each of the five main
subjects viz English, Hindi, Social Science, Mathematics and
Science.
A student may appear in one or more subjects according
to his/her choice. One test will be held on a single day.
It will be a paper-pen test to be administered on the
same day across all willing schools in the country.
The proposed test is likely to be conducted in the month
of May/June next year (2011).The exact schedule will be
notified later.
Students wishing to appear in the test will have to
pay separate examination fee for the same. This fee is
likely to be in the range of Rs.500/- to Rs.1000/- for
all the subjects.
Any student studying in Secondary or Senior
secondary school affiliated to CBSE and has appeared
in Class-X final examination (School conducted or
Board conducted) is eligible for this test.
Design of the Question Paper
The duration of the test in every subject will be 2½
hours.
Question paper in every subject will carry 100 marks
All questions will be of multiple choice type with only
single correct answer.
The test will be based on classes IX-X syllabus in the
subject prescribed by CBSE.
Negative marks will be awarded for wrong answers
The last date for submitting the online information is
October 31, 2010.

CUMULATIVE GRADE POINT
ASSESSMENT (CGPA)
1. It is calculated by adding grade point of all five
subjects and dividing the total by five.
2. It is an indicator of the aggregate performance of
the student.
ADMISSION CRITERIA
For admission to science stream, the grade points of
students in Science and Maths will be considered along
with CGPA
For admission to commerce stream, the grade points of
students in Maths will be considered along with CGPA
In cases where there is a tie, marks of students in
SA(1)+SA(2) will be considered
A subject will be allotted only if minimum five students
opt for the same.
