This presentation explains variability of rainfall in Koraput.

It provides a comparison of rainfall data of different parts of world with that of Koraput.

It also describes the opinion of friends around different parts of India, about the climate of their region.

This presentation also provides information about different site to which the resource material created during the project has been uploaded.

Variation of Rainfall in India

The south-western and northern eastern

parts of India receives high rainfall.

The north-western part, northern parts

and lee ward side of Western Ghat mountain receives low rainfall.

All parts of India receives rainfall during

south west monsoon season.

The northern and Coromandal coast of

India receives rainfall during winter season.

Rainfall Variability of Koraput

Year The deviation of rainfall from normal in Koraput is highest in 1994 where as lowest in the year 1995.

As there is rainfall mostly in monsoon season the deviation is also similar in annual & monsoon season.

There is highest deviation of rainfall from normal in monsoon season is in 1996 and minimum in 2007.

These are the comparison of Humidity and rainfall of five major cities with JNV, Koraput.

JNV, Koraput has recorded highest rainfall as well as the humidity with comparison to other.

Opinion of Friends

    

The rainfall is Rajastan is very low and the variability also high.

The rainfall in north eastern states of India is very high and variability is low.

The variability of rainfall is above 50 percent in the western part of Tamil Nadu and eastern part of Karnataka.

Western parts of Orissa has also very high variability in rainfall.

The eastern and southern parts of Orissa has low variability of rainfall.
