Version2 Key Enhancement
1
Legacy Gateway
- A legacy Gateway is used to expand the legacy interface capacity of NS1000.
(PRI Line, BRI Line, Analogue Line, SLT, DPT, Legacy CS, etc.)
- KX-TDA/TDE/NCP are used as a legacy gateway by stacking connection.
2
New Terminal IP-PT and SIP based telephone
- IP-PT [KX-NT5xx series]
- SIP based telephone [KX-UT248 / UT670]
3
One look Networking Survivability
- Even if the master NS1000 and slave NS1000 cannot communicate each other,
the system can be used by backup settings (structure).
4
Remote Easy setting for SIP-MLT
- By using external SBC (session border controller), we will realize a connection
(NAT traversal) with remote terminals.
5
Expand NT phone capacity
- NT phone (IP-PT) capacity expand from 128 to 256 for telephone heavy user.

1. Legacy Gateway (1)
1. Overview
A legacy Gateway is used to expand the legacy interface capacity of NS1000.
(PRI Line, BRI Line, Analogue Line, SLT, DPT, Legacy CS, etc.)

IPCMPR card should be removed to
install the stacking slave card.
Legacy Gateway is connected to the KX-NS1000 with a dedicated cable
(Max. 2m) connected to the Stacking Master/Slave card.
“Stacking Master” card is required to be installed to the KX-NS1000, and “Stacking Slave”
card is required to be installed to the legacy gateway.
(By only replacing the IPCMPR card to the stacking slave card, the existing system can be used.)
Maximum of 2 legacy gateways can be connected to one KX-NS1000. Legacy.
The maximum number of Legacy Gateways are 8 units in the One-look Network. (Max. 8 sites)

2. Background
Replacement demand : Target customer -> Existing KX-TDA/TDE/NCP users
IP migration from TDM system by minimizing new investigation
Make opportunity to knock the Panasonic users.
Usage Example as a Legacy ‘DECT’ gateway

3. Networking Survivability (1)
1. Backup Master
One of the slave units can become “Backup Master (Temporary Master)”, while the
master unit or the network connected to the master is down.
(The backup master can control the slave units instead of the master unit while the master unit is down)

3. The slave unit can communicate with the
“Backup Master” and run nearly completely,
while the slave can not communicate with
the master.

3. Networking Survivability (2)
2. Isolated Mode
Each slave unit can run by itself with some limitations, while the slaves can not
communicate with neither the master or backup master.
(The slave can become an independent system to serve trunks and extensions connected to its own cabinet.)

3. Automatic Rerouting to Secondary PBX
IP-Telephone (KX-NT/UT series) try to register to the primary PBX first of all.
If they cannot register to the primary PBX, they try to register to the secondary PBX.
