• Split Time and/or Expense
• Split an individual entry
– Split hours (w/optional rounding)
– Split amount
• Force Allocation
– FULL: Full split (requires 100% to be split)
– EVEN: Even split (splits evenly to 2 or more matters)
– NONE: Split can be over or under 100%

Invoice-Level Splits
• Split total bill amount to multiple parties.
• Assign a split percentage to each party.
• Splits total dollar amount, not hours.
Main Matter = 0%
Main Matter = 25%

Matter A = 25%

Steps to move existing Matter
to a Split Arrangement
Define the Split-to Matters
•
• Transfer the AR
– Write off AR Balance on the original Matter
– Create Manual Bill on each Split-To Matter to record their portion of the AR
• Transfer Payments
– Enter a $0 Cash Receipts batch
– Subtract payment made on original Matter
– Add to Split-To Matters as appropriate
• Define the split
• Assign a split-style bill format
