Torquay station
• Phase 1 - Agreed package of
reactive repairs completed 2012.
AFC £50k.
• Phase 2 - Road bridge at country
end of the station to be
refurbished. AFC £400k. On site
20 May 2013 for 18 weeks.
• Phase 3 - Station footbridge and
canopies to be refurbished late
2013 – April 2014. AFC £1.15m.

Torre station
• Phase 1 -Refurbishment of listed
footbridge completed 2012. Total

• Phase 2 – platform canopy to be
refurbished late 2013 –

In summary..
• Major refurbishment proposals at Torquay, Teignmouth and Torre
aim to restore the listed buildings and structures to former glory.
• ‘Riviera line’ colours scheme to be adopted at each location.
• All proposals will be fully integrated with other Non – Network
Rail work items and funding streams.
• Work programmes to be shared with stakeholders.
• Total expenditure 2013 /14 = c.£2.8m
• Plus… similar packages of work proposed in 13/14 at Dawlish
and Teignmouth stations.
