SCHOOL HOURS AND LESSON TIMES

You must attend Care meetings/ Roll marking every day. During this period, your Care Class teacher will tell you about important information that you need to know. Your teacher will also mark the roll to record that you were at school.

Lessons will last for 70 minutes.

Students move from one classroom to another for different lessons. You are expected to move as quickly as possible.

Year level assemblies - one year level per day. These assemblies are in the Multipurpose Shelter near the Canteen.

Full School Assemblies occur in Term 2 and 3. These assemblies are in the grassed area outside the Library.

School hours and Break times

   Lunch is sometimes called “first break”. It goes for 40 minutes. Students may bring a packed lunch from home OR buy their lunch at school. Please be patient at the Canteen – you must line up and wait your turn for service.

 Break time is sometimes called “second break”. It goes for 30 minutes.

 Classes are dismissed at 3.00 pm. each day. A class roll is checked in EVERY lesson.

School Attendance Policy

Your Student Visa requires you to attend school activity.

, except if you are sick or on a school approved Failure to meet this requirement may result in DIAC sending you home.

If you are sick…

Homestay parent to:  phone the school on 4773 8108 or  email [email protected]

If you are sick for 2 or more days, you MUST ALSO contact Lorraine   4773 8165 or [email protected]

If you are late to school…

You MUST bring a note explaining why you are late.

  If you arrive BEFORE 9.15am, you MUST go straight to your class and give the note to your teacher.

If you arrive AFTER 9.15am, you MUST go straight to the Student Counter and get a Late Note and then go to class. Give this Late Note to your teacher.

If you are late to class…

If you have been helping a teacher in class, you MUST get a note from them to give to your next teacher explaining why you are late. If you have no valid reason for being late, expect to get a detention.

If you need to leave school during the day…..

You must NEVER leave the school grounds without permission from the school.

  If you need to leave, you MUST have a note from your Homestay parent. Take this note to the Student counter during break time.  You will be given a pass which you MUST take with you.

If you lose something….

 Go back to the room where you left the item.

 If it is not there, go to the student counter and check the Lost property Box.

If you are feeling sick….

If you feel sick in class

 Tell your teacher who will give you a note to take to the Student counter.  You are not to go to the Sick Bay without permission.

If you are feeling sick….

If you feel sick during lunch break

   Go to the Student counter. You are not to go to the Sick Bay without permission.

If it is serious, your Homestay parents will be contacted to take you home.

If you are injured at school in class…

  Let your teacher know. You will get a note to go to the Student Counter to receive First aid.

If the injury is serious, have someone tell the person at the student counter IMMEDIATELY.

If you are injured at school during lunch break …

  Go to the Student Counter to receive First aid.

If the injury is serious, have someone tell the person at the student counter IMMEDIATELY.

Student Counter Opening Hours

8.00am to 3.00pm Monday to Friday.

Students are not to go to the Student Counter during class time without a note from their teacher.

Students are most welcome before school and during the two lunch breaks.

If you bring money to pay for School camps…

Any money brought to school e.g. to pay for excursions must be taken to the Student Counter IMMEDIATELY on your arrival to school.

You will be given a receipt for all payments made.

School Expectations

Uniform policy • No facial studs, flanellete shirts, denim shorts/ jeans, open shoes, eye makeup • If out of school uniform, HS parent MUST provide a note of explanation

GIRLS:  Teal skirt, Red/white striped over-blouse that MUST cover the top of the skirt.

BOYS:  Black shorts. Boxers/ underwear must not be visible. Red/ white striped shirt to hang out. School tie may be worn.

Winter: Plain red, or back or combination jumper.

Shoes: Black or white (vinyl or leather).

Socks: White socks (may have stripe) that cover the ankles.

Uniform policy

JEWELLERY

Students are permitted to wear a watch, bracelet, stud earrings, plain necklace, plain ring.

Facial piercings are NOT to be worn to school.

HAIR

Neat and tidy. No outlandish styles (punk).

MAKE-UP

NO eye make-up.

 Items Banned from school • iPods, MP3’s, aerosol cans, chewing gum, skateboards, liquid paper, Nikko pens  Mobile Phones • Must be turned off, in bags and not used in the school grounds

 The information shows the last name, first name, Year level, Care Class 

The other boxes e.g.

MAA121G refers to time refers to subject HIDDZO MT05 refers to teacher refers to room

  The class code and the teacher code are displayed MT05 refers to the room- Mathematics Building room 5. All teaching buildings have a 2 letter code followed by the classroom number.
