“The purpose of the Directors of Clinical Skills
Courses (DOCS) is to build a cohesive and productive
national consortium of educators who direct clinical
skills courses for medical students. We aim to promote
scholarship, establish best practices, and encourage
the exchange of ideas across the continuum of clinical

Membership is available to all faculty or staff
involved with courses that teach medical
students clinical skills and related content such
as clinical reasoning, professionalism, and ethics.

Thought that was important to start work at this
meeting (not wait for elected or appointment
positions)
Thought it would be too difficult to hold
meaningful elections before this meeting
Recommend that the membership approve the
steering committee to assume leadership roles
for one interim year, with elections to occur
prior to the 2013 annual meeting, with elected
members starting their terms November 2013.

and selected from one of the non-elected Interim
Executive Council members from 2012-2013 to
ensure continuity
