Factory Manufactured
• LSA aircraft that are factory built are required to
meet the ASTM (American Society for Testing
and Materials) standards and meet the
requirements of Part 21.201.
• To conform with Part 1
• Maximum Take off weight of 600KG
• If powered - Non Turbine driven by a propeller
• Maximum stall speed of 45kts
• If a glider – maximum VNE 135kts
• Unpressurised cabin
• Maximum of 2 seats including pilot seat.
Maintenance of LSA
• Must have a logbook as per standard category
aircraft Part 91.617
• Requires to have a maintenance program
approved Part 91.607 and additional requirements
of part 43 Subpart F
• LAME maintained
• Modifications to be approved by the manufacturer.
• All AD’s to be complied with.
• ARA – After the first ARA then every 2 years
