I have measured the thermoluminescence (TL)
of 82 Yamato and 129 Asuka type 3 ordinary
chondrites in the Japanese Antarctic meteorite
collection.
TL data are useful for determination of
petrologic subtype and pairing.

To determine TL pairing criteria, TL properties of three large chondrites were
analyzed. Because each part of large chondrites may have the same storage
temperature and terrestrial age. As ordinate, LT/TL Sensitivity is plotted to diminish
weathering effect.

Summary
I have measured the TL properties of 82 Yamato
and 129 Asuka type 3 ordinary chondrites.
1. Subtype I have found 15 primitive ordinary
chondrites under subtype 3.2 in the Japanese
Antarctic meteorite collection.
2. Pairing
I have found 22 paired fragments in
Asuka type 3 chondrites.
Natural TL levels in meteorites as a function of terrestrial age,
for a variety of storage temperature.
