IL SANGUE DELLA VITA
La buona gestione del sangue, la nuova prassi delle trasfusioni,
la diagnostica d’avanguardia e il trattamento delle emorragie gravi
Si tiene a Padova nei giorni 16 e 17 novembre 2016 un convegno internazionale per la
gestione delle emorragie gravi, il 2nd International Padua Meeting on Severe Bleeding
Management, Aula Morgagni – Policlinico Universitario con inizio alle ore 9.
Il convegno si apre affrontando la problematica della “buona gestione” del sangue e della
trasfusione nei pazienti affetti da gravi forme emorragiche, con l’intervento, tra gli altri, di
Giancarlo Maria LIUMBRUNO, Direttore Centro Nazionale Sangue – ISS, che illustrerà
come da qualche tempo sia cambiata la prassi trasfusionale: da trasfusioni indifferenziate al
paziente emorragico (sangue, plasma, piastrine) si è passati a trasfusioni mirate di emoderivati
a seconda dell’effettivo bisogno, diminuendo così alcune complicanze legate alle trasfusioni
stesse.
«Nel trattamento delle emorragie gravi è importantissimo il monitoraggio dell’emostasi –
spiega il prof. Paolo Simioni, Direttore della Unità Dipartimentale di Malattie
Trombotiche ed Emorragiche e responsabile scientifico del convegno -. A Padova tra i
primi in Italia abbiamo adottato i Point of Care, ovvero strumentazioni innovative che,
trovandosi accanto al paziente, permettono una diagnostica rapida e precisa della
“coagulopatia” che è causa dell’emorragia così da consentire la miglior gestione della
somministrazione di sangue ed emoderivati anche in emergenza.»
Specialisti delle diverse discipline mediche coinvolte provenienti da diversi Paesi
affronteranno il problema delle emorragie gravi nelle quattro situazioni cliniche in cui può
ricorrere maggiormente un grave sanguinamento, che in molti casi costituisce la causa
principale di morte. In particolare nei traumi (una situazione che riguarda spesso i giovani);
nelle emorragie post partum, dove è particolarmente importante la diagnosi rapida e
l’immediata e corretta somministrazione di emoderivati per abbattere la mortalità legata al
difetto emostatico che in questi casi risulta elevatissima; nella cardiochirurgia e nei trapianti
di fegato; nel sanguinamento grave anche in età pediatrica in corso di chirurgia.
