Massimiliano Nocchi, graduated in architecture, obtained a Ph.D. in Interior
Design from Politecnico di Milano. After the degree in Italy he attended the
Master degree classes at the Illinois Institute of Technology (IIT) Chicago
(August1992-July1993).
In 2001 he was appointed by the State Archives in Florence to carry out the
analytic inventory of the works of the Italian architect Leonardo Savioli. In
2007 he received a grant for the publishing of important scientific works in
the field of architectural/interior design participating at the competition for
“Young Researchers” at Politecnico di Milano.
Licensed architect , he has been involved in the design of civic buildings,
public spaces, dwellings, building renovations. He developed a great
experience in interior architecture and in building renovations. Some
projects designed by Nocchi Architetti have been published in the main
Italian architectural reviews and, such as “Abitare”. Recent projects by
Massimiliano Nocchi, concerning interior design have been published in the
book “Stanze. Altre filosofie dell’abitare”edited by Beppe Finessi.
Appointed as professor at the Polytechnic in Milan, he taught Exhibition
Design at the Faculty of Architettura Civile, in the Laboratory of Interior
Design with professor Gianni Ottolini (between 2003 and 2007). Since 2008
he carried out research activities at the Politecnico di Milano, where he have
been teaching Interior design, Architectural design at the same institute.
He was involved in design exhibitions: in 2008 was the Curator (in collaboration) of the exhibition “Studies for a new museum of furniture and interiors in
Cantù”, at Clac Cantù; in 2015 he was curator (in collaboration) of the
exhibition “colonie reloading tools”, displaying the projects drawn up by the
students of “Laboratorio di Progettazione Tematico” (held by Del Curto,
Nocchi, Rosati) .
He published several essays about Interior design and Exhibition design.
