Aim high in steering – looking further ahead than other drivers

Stay Back
 Four second following distance
 Tailgater – increase your following distance
 Blind spots / visibility & large vehicles

 Keep the bus within the proper speed limit. (GA Law 40-6-
160)
a. The speed limit on school grounds is 10 mph.
b. The speed limit on a bus route is the posted speed
limit, but not to exceed the maximum of 40 mph for a school
bus transporting school children to and from school.
c. The speed limit is 55 mph for a school bus
transporting from school activities on a public road or on the
Interstate system.
d. The speed limit on extra-curricular trips is the posted
speed for the road being traveled – or a maximum of 55 mph.
f. Forsyth County School buses should never exceed 55
mph loaded or unloaded.
