What is accelerated math?
Accelerated means to move at a faster pace.
7th grade accelerated math= 7th + 8th grade standards
2 years worth of material in one year.
7th grade=36 weeks into 18 weeks
8th grade=36 weeks into 18 weeks
8th grade accel math= 9th grade Algebra I/Geometry B
What is the advantage of
accelerated math?
1-2 additional opportunities for higher level
math courses in high school.

7th Accelerated math- 3 sections (90-96 students)
8th Accelerated math- 2 or 3 sections (60-75 students)
12th Accelerated math- about 25 students
Note: Rarely does someone start accelerated math in
8th grade due to missing all of the 8th grade standards.
