We all surrender power to the government in exchange for protections. The Veil of Ignorance: John Rawls’ thought experiment to guide those in a social contract to make the right and moral choices. Children in Poverty in USA FPL is currently set at $23,850 for a family of 4 That’s about 60 hours a week of minimum wage work! Reasons to serve Areas where you can serve The Environment The Arts Disabled Homeless and Hungry Literacy Health Care Animals Social Justice Violence Prevention The Elderly Young Children Education Our class requirements As a class we will perform three projects The first project will be to map our communities and the resources they have. The second project will be on preparing the CMC student body for natural disasters The last one will be designed and developed by you based on the Service Project Cycle Your responsibility Individually we will volunteer 20 hours over the course of the term serving our community. Any out of school hours spent on the class projects will count for these hours Only ¼ (or 5 hours) may be used on simple project such as picking up trash, filing, helping teachers, etc. Important: your class grade is linked to your hours!
