Mission Statement:
The Surplus Property Department’s mission is to
assist the UTSA Community with the management
of personal property and equipment which has
become obsolete, or surplus to the needs of the
University.

Surplus property is managed in accordance with UTSA, UT System,
and State of Texas guidelines, which include:
• Reallocations to other departments
• Transfers to state funded schools
• Utilization of parts (cannibalization)
• Competitive bidding via on-line auction

• Collect, process, and redistribute personal
property and equipment for the UTSA
Community.
• Safeguard university data by shredding the
electronic storage devices on cell phones,
computers, tablets, and other devices that have
become surplus to the university’s needs.

• Added walk-in hours on
Fridays from 9a-2p
• Added an on-line portal with
photos of available items
• Added a central e-mail address:

• Utilizing Outlook to schedule
appointments with customers
