SEPTEMBER 22 AND 23 AGENDA

Agenda:
1. Entry task—Moon Pie
2. Our night sky –go over questions at the end of the video
Using binoculars and backyard telescope-go to 3rd on disc
4.
The moon isn’t cheese but is it an OREO?
ENTRY TASK
With your group, look at the Moon pie packet:
1.
If they are not already cut out, cut out the moon answers into pie
pieces (this is the yellow sheet)
2.
Match the moon answers to the correct question, then flip it over to
see a piece of the moon. Write down anything you don’t already
know in the end of class spot
3.
Put the slice in the right spot on the blue sheet so that you can see
the moon
4.
Observe the full moon. Put the pieces into the provided envelope
when you are through and hand them to me.

OREO MOON PHASES REVIEW
Each table will get 8 oreos and a paper towel.
Your group’s task is to simulate the lunar phases
using the oreos.. Make sure you wash your hands
before this activity. The white part represents the
illuminated phase you see from Earth. When you
have checked your answer, have me look and see
if you got it right. You may eat them when you
are checked off. Please do not eat them if you
are allergic.

End of Class Question: Look at the notes you took at
the beginning of class, what are some questions or
topics that you would like to know more about from
these notes from the Moon pie activity?
