Do now: In a min. of 3 lines: How would you
describe Western PA (i.e. Pittsburgh, PA)?
By the end of class, I will learn the difference
between physical and human characteristics.
Additionally, I will master reading and plotting
coordinates.
Today, at the start of class your handbook notes are
due (15pts). We will review your homework. You
have a quiz on the coordinates tomorrow (5 Sept.
2014)


A description of all the things around you or in
a region.
Identify:

Human characteristics: Constructs created by
human beings, i.e. tunnels, bridges, etc.

Physical characteristics: Those constructs that occur
naturally, i.e. rivers, mountains, etc.
Your examples: Volunteers


You will be called up by number: You are responsible for your
number the entire year.

You are to go to my teacher website.

You are to practice reading and plotting longitude and latitude.

You only have permission to be working on coordinates or states
and capitals. You will lose Internet privileges if you are on
another site.

There are two apps on the Ipads for states and capitals.

You will be called to return the Ipads with 5 mins left in class.

No one is permitted to leave until all Ipads are returned and placed
back in their appropriate space.

Write down the states and capitals for the
following regions: Northeast, Southeast,
Midwest, Southwest, and West.
