Exam May 2003
• Hints are only to the first exam, which is a bit easier than the following exams.
• 1. Explain the following six terms/concepts/acronyms in 1-3 lines. (if acronym
spell it out and also explain shortly what it means)
– a rather dull question, but forces you to go through the material.
• 2.+3. Explain the main principles of some topic in the lectures of Spring 2003.
(look at the titles and be prepared to explain the main content in 2 pages.)
– checks that you understand and can explain the main ideas.
• 4. Can be anything connected with the lectures or exercises in Spring 2003. For
instance I may ask you to explain some smaller technical detail or design some
security solution to a particular case.
– gives a chance for students who study more carefully to get a better note.
No question is too difficult, answer all questions!!
• 5. There is no question 5 in the exam. 5 is from your transparences and
presentations. If you took the lectures before Spring 2003 and have not made
transparences and given a presentation, you should have passed the exam by
this time. If not, take it next year again.
