What is the G-20 Data Gaps Initiative?
 Launched in 2009 by the FSB and IMF at the request of the G-20.
 Contains 20 recommendations covering:




Monitoring risk in the financial sector.
International network connections.
Vulnerability of domestic economies to shocks.
Communication.
 A unique example of international coordination and cooperation.

What is the Inter-Agency Group?
 Seven International Agencies: BIS, ECB, Eurostat, IMF (Chair),
OECD, World Bank, and UN.
 Coordinates the work of the D-20 DGI.
 Collaborates closely on:



Principal Global Indicators website.
Data cooperation and standardized templates.
Promotion of SDMX and Data Standard Definitions (DSD).

 Work with G-20 economies holding the Presidency of the
G-20.
 Close collaboration with G-20 economies through:



Bilateral visits.
Regional and technical conferences.
Global conference.
 Strong support, growing sense of ownership.
