November 2015 to October 2016 Objective: to build and verify the indications given by the Global conference The regional conferences aim at taking stock of various international, regional and national initiatives for integrating and modernising statistical systems, and shaping the global initiative for a Transformative Agenda to each regional context (a) to raise awareness and share information about transformative initiatives at the national, regional and global level (b) Set priorities for the 5 thematic areas and consider new areas (c) Reflect on existing and new coordination mechanisms and consider needs for capacity building Pieter Everaers Eurostat Eurostat 8 First regional conference- Africa African Conference on a Transformative Agenda for Official Statistics will be held on 21-22 November 2015 in Libreville, Gabon, back-to-back with the African Symposium on Statistical Development (23-25 November) and the Statistical Commission for Africa (26-28 November) It is co-organized by the African Development Bank (AfDB), the United Nations Statistics Division (UNSD) and Statistics Canada (StatCan) Pieter Everaers Eurostat Eurostat 9
