Student Support in Practice Communication Pathway (midwifery)
We are conscious that there may be times when either a student or their mentor need additional support in order to resolve a difficulty arising from their work together. The number of people who are available can be
confusing and this may lead to communication being lost or ineffectively dealt with. In order to help you find the best person to advise and support you, we have designed this communication pathway flow chart.
We strongly advise the student or the mentor to contact the practice area Lecturer in Practice in the first place. This person should be able to deal with your enquiry but if not, he or she will take further advice or pass
your query to the person who can deal with it.
If the Lecturer in Practice is not available, then you should contact either the Link Lecturer or Personal Tutor, depending upon the nature of your query.
