Goal for Academic
Integrity Code

accepting that behavior?
Best Practices
• Designing tests and assignments.
• Establish policies and procedures.
• Clearly and explicitly state your
intended penalties in your course
syllabus.
• Highlight ethical issues as they
relate to our personal and

• Use Turn-It-In and other means to
identify violations.
What Violations of Academic
Integrity should be reported?
• Teachable Moment or Deliberate?
• Honest errors on the part of unaware, illinformed or unprepared students,
– Don’t report. Teach them how to do it
properly.
• Deliberate efforts to cheat on tests or to
present someone else’s work as one’s own.
– Report them as Violations of Academic
