• Recommendations for next steps (short-term
and long-term) including identification of
areas for:
– better management and governance of coastal
marine ecosystems (day 2)
– standardizing monitoring with complimentary
systems (day 3)
– collaborations between stakeholders (day 4)
– consideration by donors and options for
resourcing
Long-term outcomes
• Increased community and other stakeholder
participation in minimizing the impacts of fishing
and other activities on ecosystems
• Clear, consistent and understandable messages
delivered to coastal communities
• Comparable and compatible systems and
approaches for collection and analysis of
monitoring data
• Healthy marine ecosystems that provide for food
security now and for future generations
